Siderweld Bronzed wire:
an example of value

Less emissions better results

Siderweld’s ongoing commitment to the development of new technologies and the pursuit of an ideal of sustainability gave rise to the BRZ line, bronzed wires that minimise emissions by eliminating harmful elements such as copper while at the same time offering better welding performance.

A safer working environment

Tests conducted show that, thanks to the production process and the bronze coating, it is possible to reduce the presence in welding fumes of:

  • solid particles of metal oxides, in particular copper oxides derived from the wire coating, which are formed when the vaporised metal rapidly condenses in the air;
  • gases produced by the thermal decomposition of oxides, lubricants and other impurities (calcium, titanium dioxide, etc.) present on the electrode surface and resulting from normal machining processes.

Improved corrosion protection

The bronze coating ensures the same level of protection and metallurgical action, with the advantage of offering better corrosion resistance due to the potential difference between the wire and the coating.

This allows for a higher quality weld with a wire that can be stored for longer.

Improved arc stability for unrivalled results

Bronzed wire is produced by means of a special manufacturing process that ensures a low content of elements known to cause arc instability. This process enables the production of a wire with an extremely smooth, adherent and uniform coating; the result is reduced deposit of copper dust on: wire feeders, rollers, torches, tip holders, thus avoiding burnback and sheath friction. This results in the resolution of wire-feeding issues that represent downtime in production.

Siderweld bronzed wire demonstrates exceptional arc stability with much less current variation than the best wires on the market.

Constant wire feed and outstanding stop and start properties enable the production of a flawless-looking weld bead even at high wire speeds.
